Young Kerala Fellowship Programme (YKFP)

Applications are invited for the Young Kerala Fellowship Programme (YKFP) of the Kerala Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA) under the General Administration Department. Any graduates in the age group of 21 to 32 years are eligible to apply. Applicants must have a degree from any recognized university as a basic qualification. The fellowship scheme is for a period of 1 year (12 months). One person will be selected from 14 districts. A stipend of Rs 20,000 will be given every month. In association with the district collectors, district development commissioners and sub-collectors of their respective districts, you will get the opportunity to work on various priority projects implemented by the Government of Kerala and other projects implemented by the district administrations. There will also be a residential certificate course on Public Policy, Public Administration, Governance, Leadership and Management at IMG, Thiruvananthapuram.

It will be available from 1st week of september -2023.The fellows will be selected through an online examination, video upload and personal interview.

Following is some general information on the Young Kerala Fellowship Programme (YKFP).

REGISTRATION

  • Candidates are required to register online for the Young Kerala Fellowship Programme through www.reg.kyla.kerala.gov.in
  • It will be available from 1st week of september -2023
  • Applicants should have a valid personal email ID and a mobile number that is active throughout the selection process.
  • The registration will be open to all Keralites, and there will be no registration fee.

STAGE 1: Preliminary Online Application

  • Candidates are required to complete the registration to initiate the process.
  • Once signed in, candidates shall complete their profile by entering their personal, academic, and professional details (work experience, if any).
  • As part of the initial process, candidates will also have to attempt compulsory essay questions(any 3 essays from 5 questions).
  • Candidates may fill out the details partially, save them in between, and make necessary edits until final submission.

STAGE 2: Online Assessment

  • After completing STAGE I, candidates will have to take an online assessment.
  • Candidates can choose any of the available slots.
  • It will be available from 1st week of september -2023
  • Assessment tests will cover General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal

Ability, Data Interpretation, and Logical Reasoning.

  • Each question will carry one mark, and wrong answers will have a negative mark of ⅓ (0.33).

STAGE 3: Video Upload

  • Candidates will be given a total of 10 questions. They have to select one question among themselves and record a video of a maximum of 2 minutes duration and upload the same.

STAGE 4: Personal Interview

  • An offline personal interview will be held in Trivandrum to analyze the professional ability, motive and knowledge of the candidate to qualify for the fellowship.

STAGE 5: Ranklist and Admission

  • Ranklist will be published after completing the interview process of all candidates. Further, 14 fellows will be given admission to YKFP, ie, one fellow in each District. Once the admission for YKFP is completed, the second cohort training at IMG will commence in the first week of September 2023.
